The ARIS logs and ARIS Insights help to understand how prices in recommendations and strategies are made up

Access the logs

ARIS Logs can be accessed from every house recommendation, room recommendation or revenue strategy.

From the ARIS module

On top of every strategy or recommendation, next to ADD NEW button

Or directly in the pricing module

In the strategies section. Select the cell of the strategy and day you want to see the logs. With the mouse, right click on this selection to open the cell menu and select Show Logs.

Reading the logs

Upon opening the ARIS logs, the price flow is shown (of the selected price). If the price is derived from multiple recommendations and/or strategies, it will show this from first > top, to bottom > last recommendation and/or strategy.

The strike through rate is the rate before the calculation and below this rate, the new rate is shown.

The logs show all steps in the recommendation and/or strategy, the greyed-out steps mean that the condition was not met, and this action was ignored for this specific price. If the step is marked blue, the condition was met, and the action was applied to the price. This is also marked with the -price set- text.

Clicking on blue marked definitions will open up this step and show the possibility to look at the Setup and in case of a recommendation to look at the ARIS Insights.

Clicking on the Setup section will show the setup in read only style. This is for information purposes only and can only be changed in the recommendation and/or strategy directly.

ARIS Insights is explained below.

On top of the page, above the recommendation and strategy section, there is the possibility to change the Rate Dates. Change here the date to see the price and flow for this specific date.

On the right side is shown when the last run of this recommendation or strategy took place and if it was successful. If the run was not successful, it is marked with a red x. Clicking on this red x, will show the error message. Please communicate this error message with the Hotellistat support team.

Below the recommendation/strategy flow is written the Post Processing.

What happens to this rate after calculating. It shows if there is an automatic upload configured for this recommendation/strategy, and which one. It also shows if this price will be set in a derivation and the settings to which derivation and how it is set.

ARIS Insights

Clicking on the ARIS Insights section of the recommendation will open this section up and will explain how ARIS is coming to the specific price.

ARIS first calculated the base recommendation; this calculation is done based upon many data points. Too many to show. However, the ARIS Insights show the top 5 of the most influenced data. A red negative bar means it lowers the rate, and a green positive bar means it increase the price. The size of the bar represents the influence it has on the price.

This results in a ARIS Base price. This base price is being adjusted with the user-based setting. For every setting is shown if and how much the price changes. Opening the setup section will show these user defined settings.

Following settings are influencing following adjustments:

  • Your preferred Market Positioning > Market Placement Adjustment

  • Average hotel and estimated market occupancy and group share if your house > ARIS Forecast Adjustment

  • PMS to Market proportion slider > PMS vs Market

  • Volume vs Rate slider > Volume vs ADR

  • The room order resorting is taken from the room categories order in the setup, which makes sure that with room recommendations, no lower category has a higher price than the next category.
